It depends on the look you prefer. 63mm wide slats give a bolder, more modern appearance and allow more outward visibility when tilted open. 50mm slats are more traditional and suit smaller windows. Both are available in the same Phoenixwood basswood timber.
Phoenixwood basswood is naturally resistant to warping under normal indoor conditions. However, timber venetians are not recommended for high-humidity areas like bathrooms — use faux wood PVC blinds in wet rooms instead.
Dust each slat regularly with a soft cloth or feather duster. For deeper cleaning, wipe with a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid soaking timber slats in water.

Phoenixwood also known as Paulownia is a hardwood that is extremely lightweight. Phoenixwood, which offers a rich natural gran showing both depth and character. Phoenixwood also offers one of the highest strengths to weight ratios among all types of wood and non-wood shutters.
The timber is custom kiln dried and undergoes a prescription conditioning process to ensure the blinds are made with suitable timber humidity conditions, based on the region where order is placed. The timber slats are quarter sawn which showcase the depth and character
through its grain, ensuring that they stay straight for years to come. Multiple sanding and coating process provides the
appearance of furniture quality finish. Being a natural timber the blinds are available in a range of paint and stain colour
finishes.
